Establish eligibility
Submit a Certificate of Incorporation from the Secretary of State; proof that the organization promotes tourism in the Sedalia area, such as a mission statement or bylaws; and financial statements or annual reports for the previous two years.
Organizations whose eligibility has already been approved do not need to reestablish it. Review who can apply.

File a Project Summary
By January 30 of the year following a funded project’s completion, submit a Project Summary for every previously funded project. Applicants are not eligible for future funding if this report is not submitted.

Complete the application
Read each section carefully and provide all requested information, initials, signatures, samples, estimates, and supporting documents.
Section A — Organization information
Follow the step-by-step instructions provided for the organization information requested on page 1 of the application. Applications with incomplete information on page 1 will not be accepted.
The Project Director and the participating organization’s chief executive officer must sign Section A. By signing, they agree to complete the project as described and affirm that the information supplied is complete and accurate.
Section B — Requirements and responsibilities
- Item B1 — Prior Project Summary
- The Project Summary for previously funded applications must be completed before future reimbursements are authorized. Initial to show the summary was submitted, or mark “N/A” if this is the organization’s first application.
- Item B2 — Eligibility documents
- First-time applicants must attach eligibility documents to the original application. Initial to show the materials are attached, or mark “N/A” if eligibility is already established.
- Item B3 — Electronic submission
- Submit the application electronically to the CVB at sedaliatourismcommission@gmail.com.
- Item B4 — Sample layouts
- Include sample layouts for the project. For a radio or television advertisement, include a script or storyboard. For other products, include a rough layout showing the design and information. A sketch or line drawing is acceptable.
- Item B5 — Competitive estimates
- For competitively bid purchases over $3,000, submit three estimates using the same specifications. Record all three estimates on the Bid Record and attach it to the application. See Participant Expectations.
- Item B6 — Marketing plan
- Submit one copy of the organization’s marketing plan. The proposed project must appear in that plan.
- Items B7–B11 — Participant commitments
- Initial each item to show the organization agrees to fulfill the listed requirement if the project is approved.
Section C — Marketing evaluation criteria
Complete this section when requesting marketing funds. CVB staff will conduct a preliminary review and may suggest revisions. The CVB Board will make recommendations to the Tourism Commission as part of the CVB annual destination marketing campaign.
Item C1 — Line-item budget
Provide a line-item breakdown for every component of the project using the budget template included with the application packet.
- Vendor
- The person or organization providing the service. For advertising, this is the publication, radio station, television station, or other outlet. For a booth, brochure, or professional service, name the business or individual providing it.
- Service to be provided
- Give a short, specific description, such as “printing one-page, four-color, tri-fold brochure,” “half-page advertisement,” or a brief description of professional work.
- Timeline
- Be as specific as possible. If exact dates are not available, provide the month, issue, season, or approximate beginning and completion dates.
- Amount
- Enter the cost of each service or product.
